From the lens of batting team
Batsman: Players from the batting team who are currently on the field trying to score runs. Batsman have their roles and classified as:
Striker: The batsman who is facing the bowler and on strike.
Non-striker: The batsman at the other end of the pitch who is not facing the bowler.
Opening Batsman: The first two batsmen in the batting lineup who start the innings.
Middle-order Batsman: Batsmen who bat in positions three to six in the batting lineup, typically responsible for stabilizing the innings or accelerating the run rate.
Lower-order Batsman: Batsmen who bat towards the end of the innings, typically considered to be numbers seven to eleven in the batting lineup.
All-rounder: A player who excels in both batting and bowling.
Defensive Batsman: A batsman who focuses on defense and is less inclined to take risks with aggressive shots.
Attacking Batsman: A batsman who plays aggressively and looks to dominate the bowlers.
Pinch-hitter: A lower-order batsman sent in to bat aggressively in limited-overs cricket to exploit fielding restrictions and score quick runs.
Finisher: A batsman who specializes in finishing the innings strongly, particularly in limited-overs cricket.
Partnership: The batting collaboration between two batters working together to score runs for their team while trying to avoid getting dismissed by the opposition.
