Getting out in the match

  1. Bowled: If the bowler bowls the ball and it hits the stumps, dislodging the bails, the batsman is considered bowled and is out.

  2. Caught: If the batsman hits the ball with their bat, and the ball is caught by a fielder (including the wicketkeeper) before it touches the ground, the batsman is considered caught and is out.

  3. LBW (Leg Before Wicket): If the ball strikes the batsman's leg or any part of the body, and the umpire judges that it would have gone on to hit the stumps if the leg was not there, the batsman is considered out LBW.

  4. Run Out: If a fielder dislodges the bails with the ball while the batsmen are attempting a run, and the batsman is not safely grounded in the crease, the batsman is considered run out.

  5. Stumped: If the batsman steps out of their crease to play a delivery, misses the ball, and the wicketkeeper collects the ball and dislodges the bails while the batsman is out of their crease, the batsman is considered stumped.

  6. Hit Wicket: If the batsman accidentally dislodges the bails with their bat or any part of their body, while attempting to play a shot or set off for a run, the batsman is considered hit wicket and is out.

  7. Handled the Ball: If the batsman deliberately handles the ball, without the consent of the fielding side, the batsman is considered out.

  8. Obstructing the Field: If the batsman obstructs a fielder from fielding or attempting a run-out, the batsman is considered out obstructing the field.

  9. Timed Out: If the next batsman is not ready to bat within three minutes of the previous batsman being dismissed, the incoming batsman can be given out timed out.

  10. Retired: A batsman can retire from their innings voluntarily, without being dismissed, but they cannot return to bat in the same innings.
